Alimini Lakes

North of Otranto lies one of the most fascinating natural areas of Salento: the Alimini Lakes, a protected oasis of about 1,000 hectares made up of two bodies of water.

Alimini Grande is largely fed by the sea, with brackish waters and surrounded by a dense Mediterranean pine forest. On the northern side stretches the marshy area of Traguano, rich in natural springs.

Alimini Piccolo (Fontanelle), on the other hand, is fed by freshwater, shallower, and perfect for immersing yourself in the tranquility of nature.

An ideal place for walking, relaxing and birdwatching.
